The top of the house

The Salt Loft was once where the family dried and stored their salt. Today it is the most private room in the house: a long, beamed space under the roof, with a skylight set directly above the bed.

By day the windows look out to open water. By night, lie back and count the stars. There is a small telescope by the window, and a rooftop terrace for when the evening is too warm for sleep.
